This extraordinary building was designed by Spanish architect Julio Lafuente with construction taking over twenty years, completing in 1974.
Sitting on the hillside above the E45 as it heads south towards Acquasparta, the cathedral’s striking belltower is recognisable from the road.
The complex of buildings comprises a large belvedere piazza with the cathedral sitting on a raised plinth to the north.
